New "STAR Day" Replaces "A-Day"
Research repeatedly shows that devoting time to staff development cultivates quality teachers for our students. We are proud to say staff development has been an important aspect of Pius XI High School for more than 30 years. The fundamental goal of Pius XI’s Staff Development Program is to nurture a Christian learning community by fostering spiritual, personal and professional growth.

Historically, staff development has taken place on A-Days when students were dismissed at 1:15 p.m. Beginning this school year, however, we are introducing an innovative new approach to staff development called “STAR Day” – for Staff Training And Research. STAR Day will rotate throughout the five-day cycle (A-Day through E-Day) and students will be released accordingly at 1:28 p.m. (Please note, unless noted as a STAR Day, release time on A-Day will be 3:05 pm).

STAR Days are indicated with a gold star on the school calendar.
