Pius XI High School to Perform Special Holiday Concert at Cathedral

Pius XI High School invites the public to Sing We Now of Christmas, a special night of Christmas music at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, located at 812 North Jackson Street in downtown Milwaukee.

On Friday, December 16, students from Pius XI’s performing arts department – along with guests from the Vocal Arts Academy and the Pius Academy Children’s Choir – will perform a medley of traditional Christmas carols and hymns made famous by the Harry Simeone Chorale. Simeone is best known for arranging the famous Christmas song, "The Little Drummer Boy” along with other traditional classics. The performance begins at 7 p.m.

Tickets for Sing We Now of Christmas are $8 for adults and $5 for students and seniors. Advanced tickets are on sale now by calling (414) 290-8151

Performing Arts Winter Gala scheduled

It’s an exciting time for performing arts at Pius XI – after many years, construction for the Father Robert Carney Performing Arts Center is underway and we are close to having a beautiful new home for the arts.

We invite you to help us celebrate the performing arts at Pius XI at the Performing Arts Winter Gala, a fundraising event to benefit Student Productions. The evening will feature entertainment, a reception and a silent auction held at the Sunset Playhouse on January 7 from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. This gala will financially support the many concerts, plays, musicals and other events involving the performing arts.

In addition to your attendance we are seeking auction donations with a fine arts theme. We are interested in artwork including paintings, glassworks, pottery, fiber arts, photography and jewelry. Tickets for performing arts events, especially tickets for theater or musical theater productions are popular auction items.

For more information, please visit us online at www.piusxi.org/performingarts, or contact Patrick Schley ’06 at pschley@firststage.org with any questions.
