Head Coach: Sean Kearney

Coach Kearney is in his second year as head coach at Pius XI and 16th year coaching overall.
“In my playing days Pius didn't have a hockey program so I played club hockey for the Milwaukee Winter Club. Ironically our biggest rivals were from SHAW which is where the vast majority of Pius XI's current players played their youth hockey. The hockey coaching staff has more than 50 years of combined experience and our kids are second to none in their love and respect for the game and each other. The bottom line is that the future of Pius hockey is a bright and exciting one.”
Philosophy: My coaching philosophy is centered around family, faith and education and not necessarily in that order. I strongly believe that we as coaches are blessed to be in such a wonderful position. Not only do we get to coach top tier athletes in a sport that we're passionate about but we get to do it at Pius XI High School. We provide an environment which is quite challenging but flexible enough to allow for growth at both the individual and group level. The hockey systems we teach are some of the most advanced in the world and their implemented in such a way as to teach everyone, regardless of their talent level.
The Pius XI hockey team is a family where every individual has an innate value and is appreciated. The environment in the locker room, on the ice and at the school are consistent with this. We challenge each other, we embrace each other, and we respect each other. It's a new day for Pius XI hockey so I invite everyone to come and be a part of it.
