Once you’ve joined the Pius XI community, we have lots of opportunities to get better acquainted.
“Get Acquainted” Workshop: Students get to know each other and the layout of the school building at this unique overnight experience specifically organized for incoming freshmen. For more information about this workshop,
High School “Survivor Skills”: Students learn all the skills they’ll need to “survive” freshman year of high school during this week-long summer program. For information about this workshop,
Freshman Orientation Day: Students begin the school year with an Orientation Day when they will receive their ID cards, class schedules, books, locker cards, etc.
Big Buddies: Pius XI seniors in the Big Buddy program help incoming freshmen transition into the Pius XI community. Together they work to develop the relationship between their physical, emotional, spiritual, intellectual and social selves in order to help freshmen understand and live a Christian lifestyle.
TAC: The Teacher Advisor Contact (TAC) program is another Pius XI innovation that builds community and provides students with daily attention from an adult mentor, advisor and friend. TACs are small communities of 15-20 students from all grade levels that interact with each other daily. Students are mentored by a faculty member (TAC teacher) who provides a home base, and serves as the liaison between students and their subject teachers, as well as between parents and the school.
Rookie Parent Night: A night for all parents new to Pius XI – learn more about our flexible daily schedule, TAC program and more.
Freshman Parent Orientation: On this night, parents spend a “day-in-the-life-of” their child as they meet their teachers while moving from class to class following their schedule.
New Family Social: Sponsored by the Pius XI football program; at this tailgating event each family member will receive a complimentary meal ticket and one student admission ticket for the first varsity home game of the year.
Athletic Information Night: If your child plans to participate in any sport, you’ll want to join us this evening in April to learn all about the WIAA, Classic 8 Conference and Pius XI Athletic Code.
