PIUS XI CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
Campaign for Inspiring Lives Surpasses $8 Million!
Recent gifts, new leaders give momentum in Phase 2
The Campaign for Inspiring Lives has surpassed the halfway point! Revenue exceeding $8 million has been raised from more than 1,500 donors – a witness to Pius XI’s outstanding community support!
Scott and Sue Meinerz, Scott and Donna Sylla, and Anne Curley Zagar championed the Campaign for Inspiring Lives to the $8 million + mark. We are truly grateful for the strong leadership and generous financial support they provided to help us reach that significant milestone.
Five years ago Pius XI launched the $15 million capital and endowment campaign. Today, in Phase 2, active fundraising continues for each of the campaign initiatives:
Performing and Visual Arts Center
To be named for the late Fr. Robert V. Carney, the Center will provide instructional, performance and gallery space worthy of Pius XI’s award-winning arts programs.
Endowment
Increasing the existing endowment will guarantee long-term funding for need-based tuition assistance, merit-based scholarships and faculty professional growth opportunities. On average, tuition assistance requests are more than double the funds available. A growing endowment is essential to addressing this need.
Field House (completed October 2004)
Our state-of-the art field house serves as Pius XI’s largest classroom with five basketball courts, eight volleyball courts, 160-meter track, climbing wall, wrestling room, weight room, and ample space for large-scale events of all kinds.
The reins of Phase 2 of this campaign have been handed over to another talented team: Norm and Susan Balthasar, Brian and Dianne Henke, and Greg and Heidi Kolton. These couples are strong supporters of the Campaign for Inspiring Lives and know Pius XI well. The Balthasars and Henkes are parents of Pius XI alums and the Koltons are current parents with their daughter now attending her father’s alma mater. All three men serve on the school’s Board of Directors. If you have the opportunity, please thank these outstanding volunteers, past and present!
While much has been accomplished, fundraising for these student-centered projects continues. We are grateful to all who have participated in the Campaign for Inspiring Lives. Completing this campaign will enable Pius XI High School to maintain its innovative programs, to open the doors to a new performing arts center and to continue to make an unparalleled Catholic secondary education accessible for students from all income levels.
Please join us in this important initiative with a contribution to the Campaign for Inspiring Lives.
