A Message From The Pius XI Board Of Directors
Dear Pius XI Community,
I am pleased to share some wonderful news as Pius XI Catholic High School moves into its 90th year of educating future leaders. Today, Jack Herbert will officially begin his tenure as the 3rd President of Pius XI. Please join me in welcoming him into this community and keep him and the school in your prayers as he fulfills this call to serve.
Jack, a parent to two alumnae, joined the board of directors in 2017 and served on the finance committee. When Dr. Melinda Skrade announced her intention to take on a new leadership role in San Francisco, Jack stepped forward as the interim president. Over the past few months, Jack has developed a strategic plan and 3-year vision for Pius XI that faculty and staff are already executing. He has met parents and students, participated in the annual Father Carney Golf Outing and has taken a very active role in improving student success, facilities improvement and enrollment processes. All of this is to say that while today is his first official day, he has actually been leading with passion and purpose since June.
Jack’s strong background in business and leadership stood out among an accomplished pool of candidates. Jack received a bachelor of science in business administration from The Ohio State University and completed Harvard Business School’s Executive Management Program. After a brief career with Ernst & Young, he was tapped to lead the financial operations of Time Warner Cable in Milwaukee. His decades-long tenure with Time Warner included leadership of both local and regional teams.
Married for 35 years to his wife Jane, Jack is the father of four daughters. He is a man of great faith – active in his parish, St. Bernard’s in Wauwatosa. He also serves on the board of the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Milwaukee and Catholic Charities.
A committee of alumni, parents, community leaders and staff engaged in a months-long national search process in order to discern the best leader to propel Pius XI forward into its 90th year and beyond. I want to personally thank them for their diligence and commitment to the Pius XI community. The result of these efforts will be evident in the months and years ahead.
There is much to be proud of in our community and we are confident that Jack will build upon the successes and traditions of the past and pave the way for an even more hopeful future.
Blessings and Peace,
