NAMI Lighthouse Project
Pius XI is now in partnership with the Lighthouse Project from the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). We have a dedicated coordinator, Adrianne Busch, who will work to connect our students and families to mental health services and support.
Craig Yabuki Mental Health Walk-in Clinic
The Craig Yabuki Mental Health Walk-In Clinic at Children’s WI provides same-day care for children and teens (ages 5-18) who are experiencing urgent mental health issues. The clinic is designed to offer an alternative to traditional urgent care and emergency room services.

Teens Grow Greens: Applications are open for all 4 of the 2024 paid leadership internships. The deadline for the first internship is December 9! Apply here.
Interested in the healthcare field after graduation? Plan to attend a career event at Aurora St. Luke’s Hospital.
Interested in a career in Criminal Justice? The City of Milwaukee is hiring for police aides. This is a paid apprenticeship position. Click here for details.

Students at Pius XI have an opportunity to volunteer at Aurora St. Luke’s Hospital. Volunteers are needed in the following areas: ACL Clinical (Lab Runner), Ambassador Program, Hospital Elder Life Program (HELP), Floor Companion, Emergency Room, Concierge Admission Program (CAP), & Music Medicine. Interested students should contact Mrs. Brown at lbrown@piusxi.org.
Seniors at Pius XI have an opportunity to complete an internship at Aurora St. Luke’s Hospital. Internships include, but are not limited to, the following areas: Inpatient nursing, Lab, Imaging, Physical Therapy, & Surgery. Interested Seniors will receive a survey to gauge interest. Contact Mrs. Brown with questions.

PSAT: The PSAT for Juniors (and some Sophomores) will be October 17th. There are limited seats available. Priority is given to Juniors and then Sophomores who are on the waitlist. Please register and pay at https://ci.ovationtix.com/34610/performance/11348524 by September 25th. Please contact Mrs. Albright in the Counseling Center with questions.
ACT Prep: Pius XI will offer ACT Prep for Juniors in Winter 2024. The 7 week prep course will be held in the evenings with one Saturday course. Dates & times TBD. The cost will be $50 per student, and the rest will be funded through ESEA Title IV. More info to come later this semester.
Additionally, UWM offers ACT Prep in the fall and winter. Click here for more details.
