Student Shadow Visit Days at Pius XI

Why Shadow?
Students who shadow at Pius XI Catholic High School will see up close for themselves a day in the life of a Pius XI student. Guests will attend an admissions overview, brief tour, two classes, and have lunch with current students and staff.

Who Can Shadow?

  • Students in 8th grade can register for a shadow date September - November.

  • Students in 7th grade can register for a shadow day February - April.

Interested transfer students should have a parent email admissions@piusxi.org to discuss visit options.

How should my student prepare for the day?

  • Arrival time is between 8:15 - 8:30am. Students can be dropped off at the main entrance, or park in designated visitor spaces.

  • There is an admissions information session and tour at the beginning of most shadow days for both students and parents. (Please note: there is an informational session but no tour on themed Shadow Days for Athletics, STEM, and Visual Art. Details for these specialty Shadow Days can be found on our registration system.

  • Pick up time varies by day and details will be listed for each specific Shadow Day on our registration system.

  • Guests should bring a small bag or backpack to hold any personal belongings. Further details will be provided in your confirmation email.

  • A pizza lunch is provided for students on most Shadow Days. Guests are encouraged to bring a water bottle.

  • Pius XI is a phone-free school. Guests who bring a phone will be required to turn it off and store the phone in a backpack for the entire Shadow Day experience.

  • Guests must follow all Pius XI rules, including the Pius XI dress code policy.  Details will be provided in your confirmation email.

Family Tuesday Tours at Pius XI

What is the "Tuesday Tour?"
If your student is not yet ready to shadow, or if you would like to have a more personalized tour with a small group, we encourage you to sign up for a family tour. (Please note that the Family Tuesday Tours cover the same areas as a Shadow Day Tour, and both take place when classes are in session. These one hour tours are offered on most Tuesdays in September and October and pre-registration is required.
