Pius XI Takes 1st in STEM Forward Regionals

After seven months of hard work, creativity, and engineering design, Pius XI’s Rube Goldberg Team earned 1st place in the STEM Forward Engineering Machine Design Regional Competition at Discovery World this past Friday.

Congratulations to Hannah H. ’26, Morgan G. ’26, Luke H. ’26, Dylan K. ’26, Cassie S. ’26, Fin R. ’27, Isabella M. ’27, Finn B. ’27, Jackson H. ’28, Julianna X. ’28, and Siobhan C. ’28 on this outstanding achievement. The team will now advance to the National Competition in April.

This victory continues a remarkable tradition of STEM excellence at Pius XI. Over the past decade, Pius XI teams have captured four Regional championships and an impressive three National titles in the competition.
As an accredited STEM.org institution and proud Project Lead The Way school, Pius XI offers a dynamic STEM curriculum that challenges students to think critically and innovate. Students can explore engineering through advanced design courses, earn dual-enrollment computer science credit through the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, and engage in hands-on science courses covering topics such as medical interventions, biomedical innovation, human body systems, and forensic science.
